In fact, patrons of AJ’s Steakhouse should be made to wear a pinky ring, hold a tumbler of whiskey and say the words “sweetheart” and “baby” a lot. The menu is simple compared to what some members of the food revolution are cooking up these days. It’s steak and potatoes, and it’s good. Just ask the piano player, who looks like he stepped off the set of Ocean’s Eleven, Robin and the 7 Hoods, or any other of the early sixties Rat Pack movies. The swingin’ atmosphere is heightened by the walls, which are lined with oil paintings of Vegas – the way it used to be. As expected, prime rib and filet mignon are the preferred menu options here. Whet your appetite with the tang of the kalamata olive appetizer, or let the rich and creamy lobster bisque awaken your tastebuds. Portions are generously sized, and the beef is so tender that it renders a steak knife obsolete.
