Inside, settle in among campfire kitsch, from the towering Bigfoot statue by the entrance to the bear heads and moose antlers mounted on the walls throughout. Scores of liquor bottles behind the bar attract an eclectic mix of Los Feliz regulars, mostly younger than 35 and ranging from punk to preppy. Each night has its own draw; on Mondays you can try your hand at karaoke, while on Wednesdays you can suck on $3 pints of Newcastle or Guinness during London Calling night. On most nights after 10 p.m., DJs spin music suitable to the evening’s theme. Ask for a drink menu to browse novelty combinations such as the Girl Scout Cookie and the Toasted Marshmallow. Bartenders are less interested in looking good than serving up well-made drinks – a nice change of pace in image-conscious Los Angeles.
