Bossa Nova

Address: 7181 W Sunset Blvd
Zipcode: 90046
Phone Number: 323-436-7999

Brazilian food served in a cozy, loud, jovial atmosphere is the essence of Bossa Nova. Its name comes from "the music of the Brazilian middle and upper class," and when you eat at Bossa Nova you’ll feel as pleased and content as the girl from Ipanema. The fried plantains are to die for: They’re sweet, soft and decadent – the banana’s wicked cousin. If you can, order as soon as you arrive, because entrées can take a little while. Traditional Brazilian staples such as black beans, rice, fried cheese bread, lamb skewers and pork are naturally popular here, but if you’re in the mood for pizza, salads (try the one with goat cheese), or pasta, you’ll be covered, too. It’s a good place to go for succulent and relatively healthy fare, unless you order the flan, café con leche or other after-dinner delights.  Because it’s open so late (midnight and beyond), you can stop by after clubbing. Bossa Nova is located across the street from the Seventh Veil strip club and next door to the trendy Falcon bar, yet somehow the mix works. Get a group together, stay awhile and order something you’ve never eaten before.
