Simply named Cones, this is the no-frills ice cream parlor that has foodies canceling their dinner reservations at Babbo for the three-flavor cup. Why three? There is no way you will be able to choose only one of these rich, smooth, and perfectly creamy flavors. It would be like choosing between your own children. Behind the counter at Cones are 32 bins of rainbow concoctions from which to choose. Samples are given in batches of two for those of you who have a tendency to deliberate. You can opt for the classics or lap up flavors such as Brazilian green tea or tiramisu. Sorbets and non-dairy ices are the perfect solution to Manhattan’s sweltering summer heat, and they also serve as an option for that friend who is always on a diet. Cones is one of those places that have upstaters braving a drive to the Village. People really do scream for this ice cream.
