This expansive, two-story bookshop has dominated the Nashville book scene for more than 20 years, obliterating all other independent booksellers in its wake. After all, there’s much to love and even more to buy. Downstairs is Bronte, an elegant wine bar and bistro, and you’ll often find one of a dozen book clubs meeting intently in the room just beyond it. The floor above houses long wooden shelves of obscure staff picks and New York Times bestsellers, making selecting the next must-read a breeze. At all times, at least a dozen staff members are on hand to light your path to whichever book you’re seeking. Davis Kidd also doubles as a gift store, tantalizing shoppers with sweet smelling slabs of soap and an assortment of candles. A recent move to The Mall of Green Hills has allowed the store even more room to thread its legendary shelves.
