Address: 530 Driggs Ave Zipcode: 11211 Williamsburg’s dining scene keeps heating up, and French restaurant Fada definitely makes the subway ride worth the trip. The spot itself is cute and provincial: The front is always thrown open in the summer and the back patio is charming and romantic. A live band plays up front on many nights, so if you want scintillating conversations, head to the rear. The staff is courteous and friendly, albeit casual and not big on formalities (you might have to open your own bottle of Veuve). The food is delicious, but can be heavy. Skip the pate — you can get better elsewhere. But the escargot and steak frites are heavenly. Locals, decked in jeans and sneaks, swarm for weekend brunch. The one big drawback: Only AMEX and cash are accepted. The wine list is decent, with half bottles of champers offered, perfect for when you’re feeling only slightly indulgent.
