It is the largest and brightest outdoor light installation in the world, stretching for four blinding blocks. Nearly $100 million has been spent to burn through your retinas, and the Fremont Street Experience does not disappoint. Glitter Gulch" has lost some of its shine as the years have gone by. It was here that the first casinos set up shop, but they can’t compare to the behemoths down the road when it comes to scale and razzle-dazzle. But one thing the Fremont Street Experience does do is light up the old neighborhood and show you some history. Also nearby is one of Vegas’ most infamous strip shows, The Girls of Glitter Gulch. Depending on whom you ask, this is either a classic or a disgrace, but there’s no cover charge, so you can pop in and have a peek. he Fremont Street Experience hangs 90 feet overhead, and is so dense with lights and color combinations that there seems to be nothing it can’t display. With that in mind, the overhead "shows," lasting a few minutes each, give a visual and aural display that celebrates everything from early Vegas to NASCAR. Down below on Earth, there’s plenty of shopping to be had, along with street performers, musicians and a street fair, complete with cotton candy vendors. or the best indoor seats, head to Fitzgeralds – they have the only balcony that’s immediately beneath the Experience’s canopy.
