Address: 4455 Paradise Rd Zipcode: 89109 Website: http://www.hardrockhotel.com When high style meets hard rock, the result is the Hard Rock Hotel. There is no air of high-class pretension here, and every inch is stuffed with rock memorabilia. The rooms are sleek and modern, befitting a rock star. Deep plum, pale pine, and soft grey complement the uncluttered rooms that all offer French doors and a killer sound system. If you get through the lobby without lingering too long at the sight of Madonna’s underwear, head outside to the pool. The pool at the Hard Rock is five acres of paradise, palm trees, and more hot bodies in one place than you’ll find just about anywhere outside of the MTV studios. Soak up the sun on a sandy islet, or dive into the crystal blue water. If the rays are too intense for your SPF 45, rent a private cabana, complete with its own personal misting system. Tan to perfection, and then join your fellow hardbodies at the Circle Bar. This crowd is young, hearty, and loud. Here, you’ll find socialites from Los Angeles, actors, musicians, and people who want to be seen and admired. To appease the young and trendy crowd, the drink selection here is filled with fruity martinis, but don’t be surprised to find Vince Vaughn knocking back a shot of Jack in the corner. And it wouldn’t be the Hard Rock Hotel without the music. Some of the best young bands – including the Hives and Jet – stop by for gigs. Even the “older” acts they book are pretty good; that is, if you think guys like Sting and Mick Jagger are OK.
