When the first hint of warmth breezes though Manhattan, Luna Park throws open its doors to reveal the choicest outdoor bar in the city. You know that summer has arrived when you can kick back on Luna Park’s sun-speckled patio and toss back a frothy beer or fruit cocktail surrounded by a chic crowd doing the same. You may encounter a line – and it’s often standing-room only – but it’s worth it to join in the giddy, festive fun fueled by sangria, the house specialty, and other cocktails. Unless you need to soak up the alcohol, you can skip the mediocre menu, which consists mainly of overpriced sandwiches and pastas.
