Foodies flock to Lupa to get a taste of Mario Batali’s delicious Roman trattoria fare. The crowd is diverse, but is mostly made up of those hipster-foodie types who pride themselves on finding NYC’s hidden gems. Three dining areas make up the eatery: The front room houses snug tables often filled with families; the more romantic, hushed back room is the perfect spot to neck with your loved one; and the tight patio is a coveted spot on warm evenings. Start with antipasti and move on to the ricotta gnocchi or the pork shoulder. Don’t forget to order dessert; the gelato rules the roost. The wine list is extensive and affordable, like everything else on the menu. Unless you’re BFFs with Mario, make a reservation in advance.
