Address: 709 N. La Brea Ave. Zipcode: 90038 Phone Number: 323-931-4223 Website: http://www.pinkshollywood.com A "family-owned hot dog stand since 1939," the bright (pink) sign at Pink’s has served as a beacon lighthouse to night owls wandering the streets of Los Angeles for several generations. Though you’ll almost always see a line outside Pink’s at 1 a.m. (and 2 a.m., and 3 a.m….), it’s not just night owls who feel the urge to chow down on what is essentially a glorified chilidog. Day or night, the place is always packed. You may lose a half hour of your life waiting for supposed fast-food nirvana, but it’ll be worth it – if not for the food, for the total experience. The truth is, Pink’s is a landmark, and it brings people together. A Los Angeles native is a rare thing. Most inhabitants of the city are transplanted East Coasters and Midwesterners, and Pink’s knows this. That’s why they serve authentic hometown favorites such as Chicago Polish Dogs, New York Dogs, Long Island Dogs, and Brooklyn Pastrami. The menu isn’t limited to hotdogs, either. Any fast food you crave is probably available here, from chicken fajitas and nachos to double bacon cheeseburgers, grilled onions, and tamales. The closest thing to an L.A. Dog? You guessed it: the Guacamole Dog.
