Formerly a run-down residential complex of bungalows, they used a number of discarded objects, in the spirit of the Watts Towers, to create an explosion of color and optimism that is now an official city landmark. The center functions as a kind of communal outreach center, hosting painting, theater and conga classes for youth during the weekends. Admission is free.
