Address: 3355 Las Vegas Blvd S Zipcode: 89109 Website: http://www.venetian.com Construction on the Venetian heralded a new era of grandeur in Las Vegas. Offering suites that are luxurious enough for bluebloods and oil sheiks alike, the Venetian is a study in alchemy. Billions of dollars have transformed this hotel into a replica of the Grand Canal (complete with gondoliers), St. Mark’s Square and the Campanile. You are surrounded by ceiling frescoes, white tile and marble as soon as you step into the lobby. The Renaissance opulence extends to the guest suites as well, which are a good deal larger than most in town. Your bed is crowned with drapery, your shower is glassed-in and separate from your tub, and all suites have a separate sunken living area. If you fork out a few extra dollars for the Venezia Tower, you can add flat-panel TVs to the list of amenities. In terms of entertainment, the Venetian satisfies. See Blue Man Group demonstrate their visual creativity and musical ingenuity in a theater built just for them. (Word to the wise: If you don’t want to get wet, sit a few rows back.) As part of every show, the Blue Men come through the audience, so you may be tapped for some impromptu action. The rest of the show involves various foods, household items, and a lot of industrial PVC plastic. There is no overarching theme or storyline, but with wordless action, these guys can make you smile and feel good (even if you lost at the poker tables).
