Cheap chic. Manhattan’s Hotel QT is the H&M of the hotel world (maybe it’s an initial thing). It’s stylish, modern, and perfect for the fashionista sans Swiss bank account. Andre Balazs’ other properties include the ultra-hip Mercer and the celeb-filled Chateau Marmont. One of QT’s inspirations was a youth hostel, but the only ways it might resemble one are that it has some rooms with bunks (though these bunks have their own individual LCD screens) and it offers student discounts. The rooms are modern with stainless steel and clean lines. Egyptian cotton linens adorn your bed, which very well may be hanging from the ceiling. The rooms also come with flat-screen televisions and DVD players. When nights falls, mingle in the lobby lounge with other twentysomethings and groove to the DJ. A few drinks later, take a dip in the pool. You won’t even have to get out to refill that gin and tonic; the pool has a swim-up window to the bar. QT has a prized location in the heart of Times Square and is probably the only place where you won’t spy a fanny pack or I heart NY T-shirt.
